Effort vs Outcome

March 15, 2024

Today, I want to share something so very close to my heart, something I believe to be a transformative way we can approach personal growth and achievement/s.

Often, we find ourselves fixated on the destination, the goal..the outcome that we are striving for. It’s as if it is so easy to become entangled in our goals that we overlook the process itself.

But what if I told you that the true essence of progress lies not in the actual destination, but in the effort we put forth every single day?

Imagine for a moment that your journey is not one about reaching a specific place or achieving a particular thing. Instead, it is about the consistency of your effort, the dedication you bring to each day….no matter how small it may seem.

It's about not getting discouraged by the speed bumps or challenges that inevitably show up, but instead seeing them as integral parts of your path, part of the journey.. part of the experience.

This perspective allows us to accept that we are indeed on the right path, even when it looks vastly different from what we most likely imagined. There is a certain magic in relinquishing control... in allowing ourselves to be present and truly experience the journey.

It allows us to work towards our goals with a greater sense of awareness. Enabling us to fully experience the process while taking in new learning experiences and opportunities as they are presented without concern for the outcome, as you are confident in your effort.

When we are able to shift our focus from outcome based to effort based, we often find that the path we're on is.. far more scenic and enriching than anything we could have planned ourselves.

So with all that being said, I invite you to slow down... Breathe. Take a moment to appreciate the effort you're making, no matter how small it may seem.

Remember, your journey is uniquely yours, and its beauty is not in destination, but in the effort and presence you bring to it each day.

Let's focus on effort, embrace the twists and turns, and find joy in the journey as much.. if not more than the actual destination. Because let’s face it.. that journey...is LIFE.
