Coffee Chaos & Come-backs

January 17, 2024

Over the past few weeks,  life has taken on the feel of a circus act - juggling holidays, kids out of school, work, and the exciting yet daunting task of getting our house ready to sell.  Amidst this whirlwind, my personal care routine seemed to have slipped away on a secret vacation. Workouts were shelved, healthy eating became hit-or-miss, and hydration? Well....coffee does contain water, doesn't it? 🫣😂

Initially, in the hustle and bustle of daily life, these changes seemed minor. Why worry about missing a workout or grabbing a quick bite when there were bigger fish to fry? But those days quickly turned into weeks, the impact of these small omissions began to show. My energy levels dipped, creativity seemed to be on a sabbatical, and a certain sluggishness set in.

As someone who not only understands the importance of self-care but also champions it, this was a bit of a 'facepalm' moment.

Realizing the ripple effect of my recent lifestyle changes, I took decisive action this weekend. Starting with a morning workout this morning, I was amazed at how quickly things turned around. Within just about ten minutes of working out I felt a surge of energy. My creativity.. which I feared was lost resurfaced and ideas were flowing. The stiffness I was experiencing began to fade, leaving me feeling revitalized and really ready to start my day.

It was a subtle yet profound wake-up call, highlighting the immense impact of even the smallest self-care practices.

The most significant revelation, however, was the power of self-awareness. Recognizing the consequences of my recent choices was crucial. Without this insight, I might have continued down a path that didn't serve my well-being or align with my goals.

Self-awareness empowers us to make informed, intentional choices that resonate with our needs and aspirations.

So, I've now wholeheartedly reinstated my self-care routine and put actions in place to keep it a priority and vowing not to let it slip away again 🙌

Life has a humorous way of teaching us lessons.. sometimes, all it takes is a ten-minute workout to feel like you're starting fresh.

So I ask you, what are the adjustments you could make in your life that could take you from feeling and performing good  to feeling and performing your best?
